When I arrived at Hands On Nashville, communication cadence wasn't consistent and there was no clear strategy or brand guidelines. I implemented new communications processes, created a new digital communications strategy and design and implemented segmented and targeted lists based on user preferences. I also implemented a new blog for users to continue reading longer content.

As you can see on the second graphic, I implemented two additional email designs that extended the brand and allowed us to communicate more intimately with specific donors and volunteers as we grew and established new service programming.

We were able to structure a clear editorial calendar, track engagement and participation across segments, and use our knowledge to communicate more effectively with our followers and fans. The data we collected from ongoing communications helped us shape our fundraising strategies and, better yet, we were able to increase our open rates to 22% for our larger segment and a whopping 60% for our specific Sustainability segment.

Here is a recent billboard campaign sized for three different billboard variations to promote their Rebel Pro boots. We kept within the existing brand standards including a rustic, western edginess and celebrity Paul Eaves.

Currently working on brand strategy for Durango Exotics and new direction with creative. More to come as direction is confirmed and marketing is released.

The ReCYCLE for Kids Hands On Nashville program was birthed out a need we saw in the community to get as many kids the experience of bike riding as possible and use the volunteers and community resources to pass along bikes that could be used again. Volunteers would donate bikes, we would host events to facilitate bike refurbishment in conjunction with volunteers and another nonprofit, and then we would identify children in the area who needed bikes and host an annual bike giveaway, inviting the volunteers, sponsors, and bike recipients to celebrate.

This three-tiered program needed to be communicated outwardly to the greater community. The overall communications strategy included flyers and ads (like these) that were part of our larger communications strategy to recruit donors and volunteers for each part of the event series.

My role was to shape the digital communications strategy around recruitment as well as brand and execute the elements needed to communicate each part of the strategy.

The Contributor, a local nonprofit whose mission is to create economic opportunity with dignity by investing in the lives of people struggling with homelessness, came to our design team with a need to increase awareness about the vendors that were manning the streets and make sure people knew about the organization.

We shared a full campaign proposal with them, including the ad images referenced here. Our goal was to make reading The Contributor a common household activity, much like people read the news.

Rebranded and established campaign strategy for Monroe Harding's general fundraising as well as a specific direction for an annual fundraiser supporting youth in foster care. 

In winter 2015, launched Hands On Nashville’s Giving Goodness Campaign, with a goal to educate our following on all programming and encourage support for specific programs of interest.

I spearheaded this vision, including:

- charting a plan for email triggers with specific donor targeting

- segmenting our audience based on preferences and experiences

- collaborating with other team members to execute in-house videos

- arranging and planning all marketing deliverables to create visibility among different platforms. These platforms included email marketing, printed letter, website, and social media.

- creating a new responsive website (unlike our website which was not adapted at that time) featuring in-house produced videos featuring all HON programming

The campaign resulted in a 20% revenue increase over the previous year. We also created reusable content that could be used throughout the following year to showcase our programs and drive interest for fundraising initiatives around these programs. 

Created a full branding guide and brand strategy for Williamson Windows, a new residential replacement window company. We implemented the full strategy across website, email, print and social media.

This is a freelance logo design I completed for a client who recently started her own marketing business. 

This is a project endorsing the Emma25 program, giving deserving non-profits free email marketing accounts every year.

I, along with a few other members of the Emma team, spearheaded this initiative to give 25 Emma email accounts away for free to deserving nonprofits at the end of the year.

Together, we created a strategy to encourage word of mouth growth and also do good in the Nashville community and engage the current Emma staff in spreading the word internally to their own favorite nonprofits.

This quickly became a hit and continued for several years after it’s initiation in 2007. It not only impacted growth for the business, but improved morale and overall engagement with our current customer base.
